I am a doula because I believe that a healthy community is rooted in healthy and happy moms and their families. As a doula I hope to bring knowledge, reassurance, and confidence to your experience of pregnancy and labor. Every woman deserves their birth to be supported, in whichever way she thinks is best for her and her family. I am so happy to have found myself in this job and am excited to have the opportunity to serve you!
I grew up and went to college in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Portland in 2012 with the goal of broadening my career horizons and living in a community that values local products and sustainability, holistic practices, and authenticity. When I’m not working as a research assistant in immunology I am walking my dog, riding my bike to practice yoga around the city, jogging with friends, reading about women’s health, working on my garden, and spending time with my family.
As your doula, my job is to offer you emotional and physical support during pregnancy and labor. I am not trained to perform medical procedures or help make decisions for you, but I can provide informational support to help you better understand what options are available.
First we will set up an initial interview, that way we can assess if what I have to offer is right for you. Once we decide we would like to work together, I will provide two prenatal visits. This time together will allow us to get to know each other better and to make a plan for you to reach your birth goals. Throughout this process I will be available by phone or email for whatever questions or concerns come up for you. I will be on call for 2 weeks before your estimated due date until you start labor. Once labor is finished, I will stay with you for 1-2 hours after birth, until you are settled in. Within a couple weeks following labor, I will want to visit with you for up to two postpartum visits, to make sure you have all the support you need.
To ensure that every family I serve has a doula at their birth, even if an emergency comes up for me, I will provide a backup doula.
"Paige was an invaluable member of our birth team! She was so calm and supportive and we especially enjoyed her help getting us in the right from of mind to enter our birth with confidence! Her presence in the birth room was so valuable and we are so thankful to have found her! <3" T.P.
"Paige is such a calm and encouraging presence. She is quick to listen and made me feel so understood and validated in many concerns and questions that I had during pregnancy. She is kind and gracious- I felt very comfortable with her being a part of my birth experience. She is an excellent photographer and was able to capture some gorgeous shots of my labor, delivery, and the precious first moments with my baby that I will treasure forever! I highly recommend Paige as a doula and a birth photographer!" N.G.
"To my wonderful doula Paige Snow, Thank you for being beside me threw it all. Constantly at my side hour after hour. You were my rock. Thank you for being right there. I need you." A.B. on Facebook.
"Hi! I've been thinking about you lately as we get closer to Emma's birthday. I can't believe it's been a year!! I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am to you for being our doula! You helped me do something that for a long time I was told I couldn't do, or that I shouldn't even try. I look back so fondly on my birth experience and would literally do it all over again tomorrow. We couldn't have done it without you, and if we find ourselves with any new additions on the way, you're who I want to have our back :) Here's some Emma cuteness for you!" C.F. on Facebook.
"Paige Snow has an excellent eye for capturing family beauty. I originally met with Paige to discuss what I envisioned for my labor and birth photography. Once I was in active labor however I decided I didn't want to be behind the camera. Paige was entirely understanding and happy to offer a newborn/family photo session instead. She is professional and friendly. We all felt at ease welcoming her into our home to capture intimate moments in our life. Her photos are beautiful and we are so grateful! Paige is able to spend mutliple hours with your family and in our case she edited 70 digital prints. I believe based by her lovely demeanor that she would also make an excellent birth doula." - Barbara Farley with Radiant Mother Massage (go check out her services!)

The doula community strongly believes that every mom deserves support during labor. If you need a doula but aren't sure you can afford one, please contact me! Like most doulas, I am happy to trade, barter or come up with a payment plan to get you the support you need on a case by case basis.
