Depicted above is Snow Canyon State Park, My ancestors settled St George and utilized this canyon for agriculture. So it is named after the Snow family.
The beautiful plants that name Joshua Tree National Natural Landmark are also included.
The highway through the landmark goes through a Paiute, Native American reservation which neighbors Snow Canyon and St George. It is hard to ignore the difference between the two communities living in this land, one culture more ancient than the other and one culture currently more populated than the other.
It is amazing to think about the people who originally lived off the land and it is sad to think the communities haven't coexisted well together.
